ITW GSE DC Charger

The ITW GSE DC Charger has been developed as a tactical fast-charging solution for electric ground support equipment (eGSE) used in both civil and military airfield operations. Designed in accordance with IEC 61851-23/24 standards for DC fast charging systems and compliant with CCS Type 2 connectors (EN 62196-3), the system delivers up to 60 kW per output channel, enabling opportunity charging during limited operational windows at remote stands or gates. The system integrates directly with the ITW GSE 2400 Ground Power Unit (GPU), utilizing dynamic load management to redistribute surplus available energy without compromising the GPU’s operational priority. This ensures uninterrupted aircraft servicing power in line with IATA AHM 974 / 975 requirements. The capability eliminates the need for electrical infrastructure upgrades, making it ideal for rapid deployments or austere environments. Equipped with EcoGate technology, the charger functions as a node within a modular power ecosystem, enabling intelligent energy distribution across fixed bases or Forward Operating Bases (FOBs). This architecture supports resource optimization and reduces both thermal and acoustic signature, favoring low-visibility and sustainable operations. The solution can be deployed as a standalone unit or integrated within existing infrastructure such as shelters, hangars, or maintenance areas. It is compliant with MIL-STD-810H for operation under harsh environmental conditions and supports intensive duty cycles. By prioritizing power delivery to critical systems (GPU) without compromising eGSE charging capacity, the ITW GSE DC Charger enables defense forces and military operators to advance the electrification of GSE fleets in line with sustainable tactical energy doctrines, reducing logistical dependence on fossil fuels and enhancing operational energy autonomy.
