New scale system FlexIN™ improves precision in applications with large diameters

We are pleased to announce the launch of FlexIN™, a new magnetic scale system for installation on large diameter shafts. It is an innovative product solution that works with the LM10 or LM15 magnetic incremental encoders and provides reliable motion control on shafts up to 3.5 metres in diameter.

FlexIN™ scales are designed for 360° measurement of the outside diameter of shafts and are available in various lengths. The scale is temperature-resistant from -40 °C to +85 °C and is therefore suitable for various industrial environments. The rubber-spring layer compensates for the thermal expansion of the substrate and has an integrated tensioning mechanism that offers reliability even in harsh environments.

The FlexIN™ scale is compatible with the LM10 or LM15 readheads. The system’s non-contact measuring principle guarantees a long service life and minimises maintenance requirements. The large installation tolerances of the compact readhead ensure simple and flexible installation process. While the LM10 readhead provides higher resolution and accuracy at a smaller reading distance, the LM15 readhead offers wider installation tolerances and supports higher speeds, which extends the versatility of FlexIN.

FlexIN™ can be used in applications that require reliable position and speed control, such as wind turbines, communication antennas and CT scanners.
