The Critical Fog project is part of the research into distributed computing systems, combining the Edge, Fog, and Cloud paradigms.
he aim is to design and implement a hybrid Fog/Cloud system focused on critical infrastructures, allowing users to have the necessary computing needs at all times and superior computing resources during periods of connection to the Cloud.
The specific objectives pursued are:
- Research, design, and development of a Fog subsystem.
- Design and development of a digital twin of a defense infrastructure.
- Research, design, and development of an artificial intelligence system capable of operating in a hybrid Fog/Cloud system.
The proposal was submitted as a research and development project for the development of dual technologies and was funded by the CDTI (Centre for the Development of Technology in the Americas). These types of dual-use technologies are those that find application in both the defense and civil sectors.
