Integración Tecnológica Empresarial (ITE) has reached a new milestone with the delivery of an innovative CBRN (Nuclear-Radiological, Biological and Chemical) rapid deployment decontamination station for working animals and their operators, specifically designed for the Unidad Militar de Emergencias (@UME), an integral unit of the Spanish Armed Forces.
This project, developed over 18 months from 2023, positions ITE as a benchmark in advanced decontamination solutions for the defence sector.Fernando S. de Sopranis, director of ITE's defence unit, stressed that with this delivery they are ‘very proud to have developed a pioneering solution worldwide, as it is the first time that a specific NBC decontamination station for working animals and their operators has been manufactured, which reinforces the operational capabilities of the UME and its commitment to innovation and service’.
The trailer-mounted station is self-contained and equipped with its own power generator, water heating system, two tents with decontamination showers for personnel and animals, a tent that serves as a changing room, and a set of equipment and devices for applying decontaminants. It also has technology to manage all the waste generated during the decontamination process and is equipped with a bar to apply decontaminant on the affected land after the operations. ‘This project combines the German technological excellence of our representative Kärcher Futuretech with the capacity to adapt to customer requirements of our Spanish engineering. It is a clear example of our capabilities and reliability to successfully complete such demanding projects,’ added Sopranis.
Vision for the future
In addition to being potentially interesting for its capabilities for each of the UME battalions in Spain, the versatility of the system that makes up the station could be extended to other units of the Armed Forces, State Security Forces and Civil Protection organisations, both in Spain and abroad. In addition, ITE is already exploring new avenues to develop equally innovative NBC decontamination systems.
