The RM08 is an ultra-compact rotary encoder, about the size of a 2 cent coin, yet capable of high-speed rotation, designed specifically for use in harsh environments, with an IP68 rating. The contactless design of the readhead and magnet makes it unnecessary to use bearings, avoiding any type of friction and thus ensuring long-term reliability and simple installation.
The RM08 encoder has been designed for direct integration into high-volume OEM applications and can be used in a wide range of applications, ranging from angular positioning control in motors, to applications more related to industrial automation, where size and accuracy are sometimes essential factors. This system has an 8 mm diameter body and an accuracy of ±0.3°. Versions are available with 3.3 V or 5 V power supply, and it can work at high speeds, up to 30,000 rpm.
